Thompson Nicola Shuswap Chapter of the FCA

About

The Thompson Nicola Shuswap Chapter of the FCA is a registered non-profit society that was formed in June 2004 with 24 members.

The purpose of the Chapter is to provide opportunity for artistic growth, development and accreditation to visual artists of various skill levels in the Thompson Nicola Shuswap Region.

The TNSC welcomes aspiring, emerging and career artists through four levels of membership.

Prominent activities of the TNSC are workshops with qualified professional artists, juried shows, meetings to participate in the planning of Chapter activities, critiques to help you grow artistically, demonstrations in various mediums and techniques, guest speakers from near and far, and fellowship with other artists.

The TNSC is a Chapter of the national organization, The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) which is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to the promotion and professional development of artists and services for art collectors.
The FCA was established in 1941 by Canadian artists of the Group of Seven; Lawren Harris, A.Y. Jackson and Arthur Lismer.
Dedicated to its aim of gradually raising the artists' standards by stimulating participants to greater heights of achievement, the FCA opened what is believed to be the first completely artist-sponsored gallery-workshop-studio in Canada.
