Art on the Move – a unique and intriguing fundraiser for the local chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists. (Thompson Nicola Shuswap Chapter).

If you love art and you love a good bargain, this is the sale for you!  Trying to decorate a first home and don’t have much cash?  You should find a treasure or two at Art on the Move.

What is it? Introducing Kamloops’ first Art Fair.  Most of us have paintings, prints, photos, or drawings that no longer have a place on our walls or in our hearts.  Rather than store them in a closet, folks can sell them at Art on the Move!  We anticipate works from local artists along with pieces from across Canada and elsewhere.  There will be a variety of subject matter, genres and mediums.  Love pastels?  Prefer traditional oil paintings?  Drawn to abstracts?  We want to hang them all.  Our goal is to have over 300 pieces for buyers to view and purchase.   Prices will vary, but the goal is to make art affordable.  The art will move from one owner to another, bringing pleasure to a new home.

Where does it take place? The elegant former courtroom at the Old Courthouse Cultural Centre, 7 Seymour St. W., in Kamloops will be completely hung with art bargains.  Easy on the eyes and the pocket book.

Want to sell a piece or two, or more?   Feb. 24 – 26 will be drop off days for those wishing to consign their art for sale at Art on the Move.   There is a small fee to enter and the seller gets to keep 60% of the price when a piece sells.  Detailed information and entry forms can be found at http://tnsc.ca/aotm.

Looking to buy something special?  The sales days are Thursday, Feb. 28 to Sunday, March 3.  Doors are open daily from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. except the final Sunday when we close at 4 p.m.   As pieces sell, new ones will take their place, so come back daily.

Sunday is mark down day!  Viewers are encouraged to return to the Courthouse and find an even better bargain – but be aware that your favourite might have sold.  Don’t let it get away!

For further information, or with questions, call Cathie Peters at 250 828-0190 or email president@tnsc.ca.

We work hard to provide the support visual artists in the Thomspon Nicola Shuswap Region deserve, and we could really use your help. All proceeds from this sale are gratefully accepted and will be put to good use in the programs we're presently promoting.

We extend our gratitude to the City of Kamloops for support in this effort!
