 Debbie Milner Lively

Debbie was born in North Vancouver, British Columbia in 1960. The

passion to be an artist has been her childhood dream. Her Mother always made sure she had lots of art supplies close at hand. At 8 years old she won her first art scholarship in a 'Painting In The Park" competition. Debbie graduated from Carson Graham High School in North Vancouver with a Fine Arts Scholarship. After getting married and raising a family of four, she finally pursued her career as an artist.

Debbie is a self-taught artist. In the past 20 years she has studied and mastered watercolor, acrylics and oils. She is enticed and fascinated by the way sunlight transforms each object it touches. Whatever the subject matter may be, she sets out to ‘capture the light'. Debbie starts with a reference but takes the liberty and freedom to put her own voice into each painting.

Debbie has won numerous awards, and her works have been juried into many art competitions and shows. Her work has been published in the 2004 spring issue of ‘Magazin Art' and in a book called “Beauty Is..”. She holds an AFCA status with the Federation of Canadian Artists.

Her paintings have been sold in galleries in British Columbia for the past 18 Years. Collectors of her work are found throughout North America and as far as the United Kingdom and Europe.

Debbie is known for her enthusiastic teaching style and has been a popular workshop instructor for the past 16 years. She has taught for the City of Kamloops, local and regional art groups as well as in her studio.
