Fawn in Grass
On the wild hillside behind the house, two newborn fawns appeared on wobbly legs last June. They curled up in the tall grass while their mother foraged to replenish her milk. This deer family made our home their safe home for the rest of the summer and this winter. I feel fortunate to watch them sleep, eat, grow, learn deer etiquette and play tag in the tall grass. This one is “it.”
