Description: Lalita will begin by assessing a variety of backgrounds and foregrounds by masterful artists. She will then demo the process she uses to plan and develop the “empty spaces” in an oil painting. This will be followed by a group critique session. Main topics will include eye flow, viscosity, shape, space, tone, form, texture, colour, layering, brushwork, and edges. Participants are encouraged to review and/or bring the “Composition Basics” pdf, which can be downloaded from https://lalitahamill.com/resources-for-artists-1.
Bio:Lalita attended the Vancouver Academy of Art for four years, where she studied traditional painting methods from classically trained instructors.
