We have a very exciting artist demo planned for our November zoom. Join us to meet artist Pamela Beer. Pam will be showing us her techniques using oil and cold wax. If you have ever wanted to try something new, now is the time to join us for this unique opportunity! Pamela is an abstract artist and finds her muse in the serene forest and lush trees. Her creations serve as windows into her memories, blending abstraction with hints of representation, capturing the essence of her experiences. Here is a sample of her artwork:
Starting with chaotic marks and layers of paint, Pam's process reflects her determination. Guided by intuition and using tools like brayers and squeegees, she channels the evergy of her surroundings to shape her vision. Primarily working with oil and cold was on birchwood panels, she infuses each piece with her experiences.
WHAT WE WILL LEARN: Pam will demonstrate her techniques using oil and cold wax with brayers and squeegees while discussing the medium's attributes and possibilities.
ABOUT PAMELA
Pamela began her artistic journey roughly 35 years ago, turning to art as a way to unwind and relieve stress. She started with watercolors and later transitioned to acrylics. However, it wasn't until 2013, when she left her corporate job, that she truly embraced art as a career. It took her a while to find her unique artistic voice, and that breakthrough occurred in 2018-2019 when she discovered the world of oil and cold wax medium. Every abstract piece she create begins with a profound reflection on life's chaos. The end result emerges from layers of paint and dedicated effort, revealing a burst of vibrant colors and tranquility, balanced with just the right tensions to make each work of art engaging and thought-provoking.
