Lalita Hamill Workshop - Here's what you missed!
The Lalita Hamill workshop was a resounding success according to participants. Held over two inspiring days, it provided invaluable insights into using reference photos effectively for painting. Lalita’s approach emphasized understanding composition, light, and mood to elevate photos beyond mere replication, helping artists translate images into captivating artworks. Participants left with new skills to better select, edit, and interpret their photographic references, leading to more dynamic and personal paintings. The workshop fostered an atmosphere of learning and creativity, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees.
Of Special Note: During the workshop, what truly stood out was Lalita's natural and engaging manner. Her warm, approachable teaching style made even complex concepts feel accessible, and she had a remarkable ability to connect with every artist in the room. Lalita's genuine passion for both art and teaching shone through, creating a relaxed yet inspiring atmosphere. |

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Our Fall Regional Art Show and Sale was a tremendous event! Congratulations to the artists who won awards and honourable mentions. The recognition was well deserved. Congratulations to everyone who had their work juried into the show. Your dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed. The calibre of art at this show was top notch. To those who submitted works to the show but were not juried in... don't despair! We have all experienced rejection and it is just part of the process of being an artist. We have all been there. It is how we handle that rejection that is important. We can use it to learn and to grow our art - take it in new and different directions. Don't take it personally, it's never a "No", it's just a "Not Yet". Keep those brushes flying and enjoy the ride! Happy Painting! Elaine

Plein Air Continues into the Fall!
A small group TNSC Plein air painters from Salmon Arm & Kamloops gathered at Adam's River, where resilience of nature was on full display. Despite recent recent fires in the area, much of the landscape was coming back to life, with some parts miraculously untouched. Surrounded by vibrant colours of autumn, the artists found themselves in a scene rich with flowing water, and brilliant fall foliage.
