A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
What a year we have had and it's not over yet! Our chapter really took it up a notch this year and thanks to you, we are seeing more of our members getting involved. We hosted three art shows, two Passion for Painting sessions, a workshop, a full calendar of Summer Plein Air, winter schedule of Time to Paint, plus our Demo Days and Information Sharing! Wow! Having said that, it's time I gave a big shout out and thank you to our Executive Team. Without this dedicated and hardworking group we wouldn't have the vibrant, active chapter we all enjoy. There are lots of reasons to be a part of the TNSC but what I find the most rewarding are the relationships I have made with other artists, meeting new artists in our group and staying in touch with all of you. I look forward to the year ahead and I will see you at our Christmas Lunch on December 16th! Happy Holidays and Happy Painting! Elaine
Are you thinking about becoming more involved with the TNSC? How about joining our Executive Team? We always have room for more and would love to have your input and energy! Questions? Send an email to: president@tnsc.ca
What is my visual path in my painting? What is my focal point?
Have you ever thought about what draws you to a painting, where does the viewer's eye go and where does it stop? As a painter, am I utilizing a visual path to draw the viewer's eye in and around my painting? The journey of the eye is something to think about as it creates interest to the viewer. Here is a link to a great guide by Australian artist Dan Scott. You can also download the entire guide, or print out for future reference.
